ANALISIS CEMARAN Escherichia coli PADA MAKANAN JAJANAN SEKOLAH DASAR DI KELURAHAN TOBEK GODANG KECAMATAN TAMPAN PEKANBARU

Abstract

Food is something that is a basic need for humans, food starting from the ready-to-serve process can trigger pollution by microbes. Snacks are served in the open, causing unhealthy and dangerous food to eat. This study aims to determine whether or not Escherichia coli contamination in street food sold in the canteens of SDN 165 and SDN 176, Tobek Godang sub-district, Tampan Pekanbaru District by using the Experimental Laboratory method. In 8 samples of food snacks that were cultured on BHI broth media, turbidity occurred which indicated the presence of bacterial growth in the sample. The results of colony growth on EMB media were found to have colony growth with the characteristics of medium-sized colonies with metallic green color. Based on the reaction, it can be found that samples of food from the SDN 165 canteen, namely grilled meatballs, sausages, and nuget, were found to be contaminated with Escherichia coli with a percentage of 75% from the SDN 176 warehouse, namely grilled meatballs, sausages, fried noodles, Escherichia coli contamination was found with a percentage of 75%.
